DC reflections
As you can see I had great weather for my weekend excursion. My Best Bud and I ambled around Mt Vernon and Fort McHenry.
The grounds at Mt Vernon are spectacular. It's no wonder George Washington loved that place so.
We snapped many pics.....
......of each other.
He is a professional photographer and I am barely a rookie but we did take a similar pic and even he had to admit he couldn't beat mine.

My mind wandered alot over the weekend. I thought about things back home. I thought about finances. I wished my life wasn't so complicated. I wished that the weekend could last a long time.
Have you ever had the kind of feelings for someone that just cannot be expressed? My best bud is more than a friend but less than a lover. Well not less than a lover, just not a lover. He really is a best friend in every sense of the word. It was hard on Sunday knowing that it would soon end and once again we would be back to phone conversations and emails. Not knowing when we will see each other again weighed on our minds alot. We made the most of our time together. he gave me many lessons on photography and I gave him a few lessons in relaxing and just enjoying the sights. He can be high strung and in a hurry. It's engrained in him.
He showed me a very good time and was more than generous. He fed me and had me well equipped with a new flashcard, battery and lense cleaning kit. Have I said how much I love My Best Bud?? Well I do. And I told him....many times. I am so fortunate to have "found" him.
We were laying in the dark on Sat night and I could hear him breathing and in only a couple of nights I knew the pattern and knew that he wasn't sleeping.
I asked "Are you still awake?"
"What if I'm not?"
"Silly. If you weren't you wouldn't have answered"
"And if I were asleep you would have woken me with that question"
"Sad but true" (his favorite saying) I could almost feel him grinning.
long pause.......then he asked:
"So, what did you want?"
I smiled and just said "Good night John Boy"
He said "Good night Mary Ellen"
"I Love you"
"I love you too kiddo"
